2009 Portrait Choice Awards as voted by YOU!
2009 was yet another big year full of many talented performers, both new and established. Summing up what made the year 2009 in popular culture with 432,145 votes in total, we present to you the winners of the 2nd Annual Portrait Choice Awards!
Best Dressed Male Celebrity: Bill Kaulitz
Proving why he won with 28% of the 21 600+ votes to take out the Best Dressed Male Celebrity, Tokio Hotel’s Bill Kaulitz goes beyond the staple jeans and t shirt rocker wardrobe. Bill is quite the male fashion icon, dressing up t shirt and jeans with blazers and other cool jackets. He’s also not afraid to wear a splash of colour and go outside the typical rocker black palette! And let’s not forget about that hair and the extensive accessory collection!
Runners Up: Taylor Lautner, Tom Fletcher.
Song of the Year: “Automatic” by Tokio Hotel
2008 was a breakout year for Tokio Hotel, and in 2009 they proved that they had the talent and staying power to continue to rise to the top. So of course when the song “Automatic” – the first single off their new album Humanoid - was released, we knew that fans would quickly embrace it. We certainly weren’t wrong, with 21% of the 29 500+ votes, deeming “Automatic” as Song of the Year in the 2009 Portrait Choice Awards! Not bad for a song that only took two hours to write!
Runners Up: “Falling in Love” by McFly, “Any Other Day” by Hilary Duff.
Album of the Year: Humanoid by Tokio Hotel
Showing that their 2008 success was not just a fluke, these German rockers have taken out the Album of the Year title for the 2nd year in a row - but with a new album! With the guys winning 33% of the 17 000+ votes, Tokio Hotel showed that they mean business and have the talent to stay on top!
Runners Up: Brand New Eyes by Paramore, Here We Go Again by Demi Lovato.
