"Tokio Hotel: So haben wir die Zwillinge auch noch nicht gesehen
Bill und Tom Kaulitz sind die Coverboys der deutschen Februarausgabe des Magazins ‘GQ’, das ab Donnerstag zu haben ist. Fotografiert wurden die 19-jährigen von Starfotograf Julian Broad, der auch für die letzten Alben von Robbie Williams und Mika hinter der Kamera stand.
Die Zwillinge aus dem deutsche Pop-Export Tokio-Hotel mausern sich allmählich auch zu großen Stil-Ikonen. Selbstbewußt waren sie schon immer.
„Ich könnte mir vorstellen, auch einmal eine eigene Kollektion zu entwerfen“, sagt Bill. Seine absoluten Fashion-„No-Gos“ sind „echter Pelz und die Klamotten, die Tom trägt.“ Denn Tom blieb auch im GQ-Shooting seiner Vorliebe für Baggy Pants treu. Die Brüder, mit ihren komplett unterschiedlichen Kleidungsstilen, sind in Fashionfragen ihre härtesten Kritiker: „Es ist schon so, dass wir uns gegenseitig modetechnisch ganz schön scheiße finden“, verrät Bill und Tom fügt hinzu: „Man kann sich nicht vorstellen wie der andere rumzulaufen. Aber das Schöne daran ist, ich weiß ja, wie ich mit Bills Klamotten aussehen würde, halt einfach wie Bill.“
Auch wenn sie stilistisch sehr unähnlich sind, fühlen sich die Zwillinge eng verbunden. „Ich weiß genau was Bill denkt, und er weiß genau was ich denke. Eigentlich brauchen wir uns gar nicht mehr zu unterhalten, wir verstehen uns auf einer ganz anderen Ebene“, so Tom. „Ich würde das so erklären: Alles, was ein kompletter Mensch in sich trägt, haben wir untereinander aufgeteilt. Jeder hat sich seinen Bereich ausgesucht und seine Fähigkeiten spezialisiert. Bill geht mehr in die kreative Richtung, ich mehr in die Businessecke. Wenn man alles zusammennimmt, sind wir aber wieder eine Person, ein Mensch. Ein sehr breit gefächerter.“ Auch für Bill ist klar: „Getrennt funktionieren wir einfach nicht richtig“.
Im Gespräch mit dem Herrenmagazin stellte Frontmann Bill Kaulitz übrigens klar: “Wir sind keine Brüder, sonder eineiige Zwillinge. Das macht den Unterschied.”

Actually we don’t even have to talk to each other, we understand each other on a complete new level”, says Tom. “I would explain it like this: Everything that a human being carries, we divided among each other. Each one of us chose his area and specialized his skills. Bill is more the creative one of us, I’m more the Business-Person. If you add all our skills together, we’re like a person again. One Human being. A very broad-diversified human being.” Also for Bill it’s clear: “We can’t function when we’re seperated”. By the way, frontman Bill clarified in the interview with GQ: “We aren’t brothers, we’re identical twins. That makes the difference.”
