Bill Kaulitz, Frontmann der Mega-Band Tokio Hotel, ist schon immer durch sein extravagantes Styling aufgefallen. In letzter Zeit noch mehr als sonst...
Dunkel geschminkte Augen, perfekt lackierte künstliche Fingernägel: Beim Interview mit BILD.de erklärt der 20-Jährige seinen Style, spricht über seinen neuen Film „Arthur und die Minimoys 2“ und über seinen ersten Kuss.
Mit seinen zehn Zentimeter hohen Absätzen ist er fast zwei Köpfe größer als die BILD.de-Redakteurin. „Ich bin etwas gewachsen, komme jetzt auf 1,88“, sagt er beim gemeinsamen Foto, das dann doch lieber im Sitzen gemacht wird. „Und dazu ich trage ja jetzt Absatz!“
Und nicht nur das: Die Haare als Irokese, Kleidung von Christian Dior und Rick Owens (Lieblingsdesigner der Rocker, Madonna trägt die Marke des US-Designers), jede Menge Silberschmuck um den Hals und Lederhandschuhe. Der junge Mann weiß sich in Szene zu setzen.
BILD.de: Bill, suchst du dir selbst aus, was du anziehst?
Bill Kaulitz: „Ja, auf jeden Fall. Für mich war es von Anfang an wichtig, die Freiheit zu haben, mich anzuziehen, wie ich will. Das größte Stück Freiheit ist mein eigener Körper. Ich will selbst entscheiden, wie ich aussehen will. Einen Stylisten zu haben, der mir alles rauslegt, wäre für mich die größte Horrorvorstellung. Das könnte ich nie ertragen. Für mich ist es wichtig, dass ich mich wohl fühle und mich nicht langweile.“
Warst du schon immer so selbstbewusst oder hast du dich erst mit der Zeit emanzipiert?
„Beim ersten Treffen mit unserer Plattenfirma wollten sie uns einen Stylisten andrehen und mir sagen, wie ich meine Haare tragen soll. Das war das Erste, was ich raus gestrichen habe. Damals war ich 14. Da gab es also von Anfang an Diskussionen.“

Gibst du viel Geld für Kleidung aus?
„Ob meine Klamotten viel kosten oder nicht, ist total unwichtig. Früher hatte ich wenig Taschengeld und habe mir meine Sachen selbst genäht, das mache ich manchmal heute noch. Oder ich male etwas auf und lasse es mir schneidern. Ich habe teilweise Jacken an, die kosten 10 Euro. Hauptsache, es sieht geil aus!“
Was die anderen über dein Styling sagen, ist dir egal?
„Mit Tokio Hotel gab es Zeiten, da konnte ich den Namen nicht mehr hören. Ich konnte mein eigenes Gesicht nicht mehr sehen, die Haare, alles. Ich konnte es auch anderen nicht übel nehmen, wenn sie das auch so empfanden. Dann wird es halt Zeit, etwas anders zu machen. Sich anders zu präsentieren.“
Findest du dich schön?
„Ich bin niemand, der vorm Spiegel steht und sagt: ‚Boah, bist du ’ne geile Sau!’ Auch, wenn das viele über mich denken, dass ich das über mich denke. Wenn andere Leute sagen, dass ich gut aussehe, freut mich das natürlich. Man selbst sieht das ja etwas anders.“
Wie lange brauchst du morgens?
„Mit Duschen, Anziehen, Schminken brauche ich eine Stunde, bis ich durchgestylt bin. Es gibt natürlich auch Tage, an denen ich mich nicht style. Mit diesen Haaren (zeigt auf seinen Irokesen) zum Flughafen zu gehen, wäre ja etwas anstrengend. Dann setze ich eine Mütze auf und bin komplett ungeschminkt. Zu Hause stehe ich auf und setze mich unrasiert im Jogginganzug vor den Fernseher – wie jeder andere auch.“

Wann war dein erster Kuss?
„Ich war 9 oder 10. Tom (sein Zwilling, Anm. d. Red.) und ich hatten tatsächlich dasselbe Mädchen. Er hatte sie einen Tag früher geküsst. Ich war einen Tag später dran. Es war furchtbar. Ich glaube, der erste Kuss war ja für keinen richtig gut. Ich fand es damals schrecklich. Der zweite war besser.“
Willst du als nächstes Hollywood erobern?
„Bisher war die richtige Rolle noch nicht dabei. Ich denke, dass es sehr schwer ist, eine Rolle zu spielen. Ein bisschen Erfahrung aus Musikvideos habe ich ja auch, aber einen ganzen Film zu spielen, ist noch mal etwas anderes. Wenn das Richtige dabei ist, kann ich mir das auf jeden Fall vorstellen. Vampirfilme sind meine absoluten Lieblingsfilme. Mein Kindheitstraum würde sich erfüllen, wenn ich in einem mitspielen könnte.“
Bill Kaulitz in der nächsten Folge von „Twilight“? Das passende Styling hat der Teenie-Star jedenfalls schon einmal.
„Ja, um so etwas in der Sprechkabine zu synchronisieren, küsst man seine eigene Hand, damit die Geräusche auch gut rüberkommen. Das ist nicht annähernd so romantisch, wie das dann hoffentlich im Film rüberkommt.“

Vampirfilme sind meine absoluten Lieblingsfilme. Mein Kindheitstraum würde sich erfüllen, wenn ich in einem mitspielen könnte.“

BILD.de: Bill? Do you find yourself in what you wear?
Bill: “yes,definitely.For me that was important from the beggining.To have that freedom,to wear what I want. The biggest piece of freedom is my own body.I want to decide how I want to look like.To have a stylist who decides everything for me would be my biggest nightmare. I could never do that. For me it’s important that I feel comfortable and am not bored.”

BILD.de: Were you always so confident or you emancipated yourself over time?
Bill: “At the first meeting with our record company they wanted to give us stylists that should tell me how should I wear my hair. This was the first thing I deleted.I was 14 back then.In that area there were discussions from the beggining.”

Bill: “It’s unimportant if my clothes are expensive or not.Before I didn’t have so much money so I did my own stuff,I sometimes do that today too.Or I draw something and than I make it. I have some jackets that cost $ 10. The main thing is it looks cool! ”

Bill: “With Tokio Hotel, there were times when I could no longer hear the name. I could not see my own face, hair, everything.I could not take it amiss to others, if they felt like that.Than it came time for something else.Present myself differently.”

Bill: “I am not the one that stays in front of mirror and says:Woah you are so hot.Also when lot of them think I do that,that I think like that about myself.When another people say that I look good,I am happy of course.You can see that.”

Bill: “With showering, dressing, make-up I need an hour until I am styled.Of course there are days when I do not style myself.To go with this hair (pointing to his Iroquois)to the airport, would be a little exhausting.Then I put on a cap and I have no make up.At home I get up and sit in the jogging suit unshaven front of the TV – like everyone else. ”

Bill: “Until now, there wasn’t proper role.I think it’s pretty hard to act.I have some experience in making music videos,but one whole film is a total different thing.When a right film comes than I could think of something.Films with vampires are my favourite.My dream as a child would be fulfilled if I had a chance to be in one.”
